Making an Escaportfolio
Or why, in the midst of my internship research, I gamified my portfolioStep 6
Making a marble game in Cargo

Paco-Shin is a paper prototype I intend to develop on Godot, to get to learn about the engine.
It’s the tale of a working person that goes for a walk on their break from work and stumbles upon kids playing marbles.
They really enjoy the game and decide to battle every kid in the playground to become the queen/king of marbles before getting back to work.
Its heavily inspired by the YouTube channel MarbleRace and japanese mini-games like in Yakuza.

Since it’s in the Paper Prototype space, which is supposed to be basic, I went for a simple process of “click to advance”.
I calculated trajectories for the main and enemy marbles and simply made logical connections.

Then it’s simply 7 pages that follow one another atop a paper track I drew.
You can’t lose.
What I really like about this way of making the actions follow one another through a click is that the sound
of the mouse is reminiscent of the *tic* of marbles hitting one another.
