Flash Forward is a visual novel inspired by Life in Adventure and Rogue Galaxy.
I wanted to challenge myself at renewing the way Twine games are played.
The game should be approx 2 hours long, with multiple endings.

Sent on a diplomatic mission to the Kepler planet
you quickly discover that the Kepler system is hiding many secrets.
Will you complete your mission? Or change course?
Flash Forward is developped on Twine using SugarCube.
More permissive than the initial language of Twine, Harlowe 3.3
it allows me to use a heavy graphical interface and set complex timing and audio elements

Which is important as the game uses real time dialogue reactions and hidden objects in exploration!


Part of the challenge is about learning art pipelines!
At the beginning of the project, I did research on what graphical style would best fit the game & my abilities.
And Pixel Art stood out!
Every asset, from characters to UI, is made and animated on Aseprite.
I’m still perfecting my style, but the result is promising!

I haven’t started working on the audio design yet.
I intend to use Reaper, as I am familiar with the soft.
Flash Forward will have fully recorded voices in english and will be available in both english and french.
All of my advances and plans are compiled on a Mural board.
It is updated with every change made and separated in categories :
Programmation, events per planet, narrative paths, dialogue trees, ...

I plan to release Flash Forward before the end of 2026.
